Roteiro Lírico
Vinicius de Moraes
Companhia das Letras, 2018

Soon after the publication of the famous Antologia poética (1954), Roteiro lírico... would be announced in practically all of Vinicius de Moraes' releases. It was a title "in press", to which the poet dedicated himself diligently for many decades. Despite being long awaited, the unfinished volume would only take the form of a book posthumously, organized by José Castello, in 1992. This edition, with selection and presentation by the poet and researcher Daniel Gil, features a good-humored, curious, Vinicius de Moraes. enchanted by the city's geography and its elements of popular culture, such as traditional songs and modinhas. In this true ode to Rio de Janeiro and its transformations, Vinicius recalls: "There was the stone cave at the bottom of the stream, full of bats that were the kings of the game. People would make love in the banana grove. When I returned home at night , my street seemed more mysterious to me."
