Children and adults know some of Vinicius de Moraes' children's poems by heart, thanks to the intelligent and humorous rhythm of his verses. The delicious musical versions of Noah's Ark are an example of this sympathy that the poet gained among readers young and old. The albums Noah's Ark 1 (1980) and Noah's Ark 2 (1981) featured compositions such as "O Pato", "The House", "The Cat", "The Pingüim" and "São Francisco", which became famous in the voices of Chico Buarque, Milton Nascimento, Toquinho, Marina Lima and Ney Matogrosso, among other performers.
Now the book Noah's Ark has a new edition, with all 32 poems from the original edition, published by Companhia das Letrinhas for the first time in 1993. Illustrations signed by Nelson Cruz make up the reissue of this children's classic.
