Vinicius menino
Vinicius de Moraes
Companhia das Letras, 2009

Vinicius menino brings together twelve texts in verse and prose by Vinicius de Moraes, some collected from the author's books, some unpublished. In them, Vinicius talks mainly about his childhood and youth. Moved by memory, and by the sensitivity of a poet who was once a boy, he writes about his mother's house, his grandparents' house, about his relatives and friends, about swimming in the sea, the games, the challenges and the adventures . Talk about animals - chicken, cow, ox, dove, ant, mosquito... Play with the dictionary, looking for words and writing about them. As Eucanaã Ferraz, responsible for creating the volume, says: "There is a lot of joy and laughter, yes, but there is also a place for solitude, silence, doubt and emotion." With colorful illustrations by Marcelo Cipis and graphic design by Raul Loureiro and Cláudia Warrak - who signed the entire new project for the Vinicius de Moraes collection -, Vinicius menino brings an unprecedented portrait of one of the biggest names in Brazilian literature.
